East Region Junior Team Trophy

Norfolk junior girls defended their East Region Junior Team Trophy title at Saffron Walden Golf Club. This challenging course was in excellent condition, enabling some great performances.

Teams from Bedfordshire, Camb and Hunts, Essex, Hertfordshire and Norfolk played for the East Region Junior Team Trophy, an event of 18-hole Stableford with the best four scores to count. Teams made up of a range of set handicaps categories from + to 30. 

This was a first county appearance for Molly Smith and Annabel King who did extremely well. Eva Freeman topped the Norfolk scores with an impressive 38 points, closely followed by Freya Colk on 37.  Erin Wilson, winner of the Bawburgh Golf Club Junior title the day before, rounded off an impressive weekend of golf.

It was an excellent day of golf by Norfolk girls to take the East team trophy for the second year running.  

Captain Lilia Copeman accepted the trophy on behalf of Norfolk and thanked the organisers Cambs and Hunts Women’s Golf and Saffron Walden Golf Club for an excellent event.
